The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco–style skyscraper located on the East Side of Midtown Manhattan in New York City, at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Manhattan. At 1,046 feet , the structure was the world’s tallest building for 11 months before it was surpassed by the Empire State Building in 1931.It is the tallest brick building in the world with a steel framework. The Chrysler Building is one of the most famous landmarks of New York City. Built by the Chrysler Corporation, the skyscraper was built at a frantic pace during the 1920’s when builders were fiercely competing to build the tallest skyscraper in the world.

Craig Severance, the designer of the skyscraper “Trump Building”, to reach the target added two floors to his building, without knowing that the architect of the Chrysler Building, William Van Halen, had already obtained permission to build a 185 ft Art Deco stainless steel spire (Still today the feature of the building) that made the Chrysler Building 1048 ft higher than the Eiffel Tower, previously the tallest building in the world. But the Chrysler Building was the world’s tallest skyscraper for just one year, when it was surpassed by the famous Empire State Building.
