#9    Man Crush: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson,More info:hercampus

I’m coming to you today with some inspiration: I wanted to bring some attention to the amazing men in celebrity culture who do so much for us, mostly when it comes to their physical appearance. With all of the crazy things going on in the world these days, it’s nice to take five seconds out of your day to admire an attractive male before you continue to scroll through the warzone that is the average American’s Facebook timeline. My first Man Crush Monday is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a wrestler turned Hollywood actor, and his Instagram ranks as one of the top actor social media accounts. We all know The Rock from his time in the WWE and that one meme of him everyone loves so much. He recently starred in the new film Baywatch, and has officially made it to silver fox territory with his new graying beard. Maybe you think he’s a little old for an MCM, but The Rock is one of my favorite celebrities ever. He is so dedicated to his craft (whether that’s working out, acting, or spreading positivity via social media), and he seems like such a genuine person. He is also hilarious, and that cannot be argued.

As someone who keeps in touch with celebrity news and culture, I often find myself pondering the individual’s relationship to the celebrity. I am not famous — and probably never will be. That’s something I’m perfectly okay with, and even prefer. Yet, I (and probably you, too) maintain a level of connection to the red carpet world at varying degrees depending on your fondness for the figure.

Therefore, it’s easy to track personal relationships with each figure. As far as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, I think I first saw him as himself on “Wizards of Waverly Place,” which seems humble enough in my mind. However, the fact that I first saw him on a Disney Channel show exemplifies just how much he’s grown. And now, that growth has paid off significantly.
