This class will be a basic intro into the methods and techniques of lost wax casting…

Lost wax is how most of the jewelry you see in stores are made. Basically, you make a wax original put it into a mold then burn out the wax and pour in your metal… There are a few other steps along the way which we will cover in this class. Our goal for this session will be to create an original ring wax design and prep it to be poured into a mold.

The class is free with a 5 dollar suggested donation to cover the cost of the materials. If you want to cast the ring you made it will be an additional 20 dollars. We will do the casting for you this time but there will be classes on the casting process in the future…

Feel free to research any designs or ideas you might have for a ring before you come to class. Lost wax is a very versatile method so let your imagination run wild.
